Children's Day

I just finish and am I glad. Lemon cake with BC icing. No matter how hard I tried BC didn't want to smooth and then my writing on side was terrible and I had to take it off and redo and it really messed the side up.

looks fantastic :) If you don't want the balls for hands I make a mitten shape (flatten a ball a bit and cut a small v shape out to make the thumb) then use a toothpick to make lines for the fingers

Wow are those figures sculpey? Or are they gumpaste or fondant? You are an excellent sculpter whatever material it is! I'd love to know more too!

Thanks, Noah is a combination of gumpaste and mmf, the other figures are 100% mmf. I did get the directions for the figures from a clay book, but I can't remember which one. The eyes were painted on using royal icing.

Your cake is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. How did you learn how to make Noah and the animals? I'd love to do that.

I LOVE this cake. I teach a class at church called Rainbows for 3 & 4 yr old boys & girls. The lessons are based on animals with a Noah's Ark theme.
