Before this cake I was baking only cupcakes, cookies and simple cakes. My dad asked me to "bake something" for his, our neighbor's and his daughter's upcoming birthdays. first tier is Red Velvet, second - Honey with cream filling, and top - Devil's Food chocolate cake. I've turned Barbie into mermaid with honey/white chocolate modeling paste (used the same for seaweed) and hid her shoes and clothes in sugar pearls. Fish and seashells are made of marzipan. I made top tier to look like a castle ruin and Honey cake became the beach. Only stones (apricots with sugar coating) and pebbles (mixed flavors gummy candies) are store bought, everything else was made by me. Shells which are not on the cake are not edible and for decoration only.
