Moonlit Fountain Wedding Cake

I made this cake for a friend’s wedding. The design is based on a Wilton cake found in the 1978 yearbook called Moonlit Fountain (see pic). I made a few modifications based on her color scheme and desires. The cake is made with either fondant or royal icing decorations. The angels on the bottom are plastic and are actual Wilton figurines from the 70's that I bought on Ebay. The topper was purchased as well. It was fun to make a cake a like this!

Aaahhhh now this is what I call a wedding cake:)  Yah, I made many of these designs back in the 80s and 90s.  Warms my heart to see them again.  You did a very nice job on it.  Looks like it is covered in fondant - very smooth.  Having found those old plastic pieces that were not yellowed is quite a task well done.

Talk about a "Blast from the Past"!  :D  But you really gave this design an update and it is quite well done.  and yes- finding old Wilton angels like that that are still white - total score!  Great job!
