The Minecraft Cake

The Minecraft Cake on Cake Central

The Minecraft Cake Here’s a cake I made this weekend for my friend’s son turning 7. She said that she tried to persuade her son for a different theme, but failed to. The squares where cut individually. I downloaded several photos of Minecraft images (wallpaper, background, etc) but really should have settled for an image captured from the game itself. After putting all the squares, and taking a photo, I wasn’t too satisfied with the color/shade of browns and greens I chose. It’s now growing on me — thankful to my cake community friends for the assurance that this is fine.

Although it might be a lot of work cutting the squares on the day of the assembly, i think this is still the best way to do it. The squares will still be a little soft therefore will adhere closer to each other thereby giving little gaps between each square. I cut the squares two weeks before and cover them with saran wrap. Although it was easier to handle and individually placed them on the cake, i find that you can’t really smoothen the squares to make gaps smaller. The blue squares were cut as I was assembling, so I was able to smoothen it closer to the four squares around it.

Hope you’ll like it! Happy Tuesday all! hugs
