Choo Choo Train
Cake engine made from 3D pan, individual cars made from mini loaf pan. All covered and decorated with BC. Cars have candies and cookies on the top. Wheels made out of cookies...they didn't last long. Before the candle was blown out, it looked like a train wreck. Missing wheels, finger pokes, missing candy decor... oh well. Lots of fun anyways.
lol! that's a funny story :D good thing you managed to take a picture before the slaughter! lol!
I attempted to make a cake like this this weekend. The 3-D train just disintegrated when I tried to remove from pan! ended up with just a round cake and scratched the whole 3-D thing:( Anyway, yours looks wonderful!!
Elliott1 - What do you use to grease pans? I use Baker's Joy and have never again had a problem. Sorry it didn't work out.
Wow it's beautiful , thanks for the inspiration.
wow...what a great cake...how long did it take you to create this and how were you able to set it up? it looks wonderful.
awesome!!!! great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job
It took a while, hard to say how long -- with kids, I just worked on it a little at a time. Each "car" is on a piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the car. I transported them on a cookie sheet. For set up, I used by son's blocks and set them on blocks. Attached wheels with icing right where the blocks were so you couldn't see them. Then stuck in little pieces of red licorice between the cars to make them look connected. It was a fun cake to do!
