St.patrick's Day Wedding Mad Hatter

This wedding was SO themed and fun! The table were all named after counties in Ireland, there was green glitter on the tables, shamrocks everywhere, green hydrangeas as floral bouquet centrepieces, gold coins and this crazy cake right in the middle. I used a dark chocolate NFSC as the topper inscribed with the bride & groom's name, gold chocolate coins, gumpaste shamrocks on wires, gumpaste gold "buckle" on the bottom tier. The cake was a 6"/9"/12" with quadruple-layers inside. Carrot, Choc & Banana tiers.
argh! The shine off the glitter makes the cake & gold buckle look patchy....but it's just the stupid effect from the flash! :x :x
Gorgeous!!!!!! Really gorgeous! And what a great theme. It sounds like fun. How original! ;-D
Oh what fun!!!!! Your cake looks fabulous! The green is beautiful!! K'ly
Adorable :madhatter:
antonia, did you carved the holes in the center or wes it one cake on top of the other?
How wonderful! Great job!
I counter-sunk each tier about 1.5" to 2" deep into the cake tier below.

Great cake! Such a fun wedding that would have been!!
fabulous! wonderful job!
That is sooooo cute
do you use the non-crusting buttercream to get it so smooth? I love fondant and hate buttercream, but you make me want to learn. Do you smooth it with a tool, or just practice makes perfect?
i use non-crusting, all-butter IMBC and i smooth it with a cheap plastering tool from the hardware store
Awesome looking cake!!!! What is IMBC (I know the BC part! lol) and is there a recipe for it on this site?
I love it! It's so fun!
