This is a cake I made for my husbands birthday. It is a fondant covered vanilla victoria sponge with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam. I hand piped the top in royal icing and hand made various fondant pieces. The cake represents all his favourite things about our favourite place Hong Kong. There is our favourite bar's logo, the star ferry, the duk ling junk, favourite museum, favourite cocktail the ning sling, and favourite food the Hong Kong egg tart. On the top is a dim sum basket with char siu bau my hubby's fave dim sum dish. He loved it :-) I made the whole thing from start to finish in a couple of hours starting at 1am!!!
