Camo Birthday Cake

I wanted to do something a little different on this cake. Not everyone LOVES fondant and since this was a chocolate cake with milk chocolate frosting and a hunting theme... I thought why not take advantage of that creamy brown frosting. Turned out great! The top and trim are made from MMF that has been 'painted' with coloring gel. I then etched some lines, twigs and such onto it with a fondant tool (a toothpick would work the same). To get the leaf imprints, I used a clean leaf off of a silk flower bundle. You just lay it flat onto the still wet coloring, gently press it to adhere and then peel it off. Leaves the pattern of the leaf and makes a great effect on the cake. The bow is made from modeling chocolate, arrows are toothpicks with modeling choc tips/feathers.
