Lego Cake

Lego Cake on Cake Central

Tried really hard to get nice square corners so it looked more like lego, than duplo. Even the little bits are fondant, as it the name, all made to look like real lego pieces.

I know that you made this cake a long time ago, but I love it, and am planning to copy it for an order this weekend. Do you remember what sizes your cakes were?  Also, which method did you use for the studs?  Thanks!

Hi Katie.  Any square tin will do.  My tin was probably about 28 - 30 cm square.  Once you determine your tin, try different circle cutters, to see which one seems the right size.  As for the studs, I used an icing tip.  I think from memory, is was the No.12?? Plain round.  But again, any small round cutter, plunger cutter, or tip will do.  The small pieces do take a while to make, so allow a bit of time for them.  but they do add to the overall effect, and its nice that the kids can eat them.

Good luck and hope you have fun.
