I made this for my daughter's 9th birthday - my oldest daughter found an old (1950's) cake book at the second hand book shop and it had a really old Dolly Varden cake in it, Miss 9 decided that was what she wanted, only instead of a plain white dress she wanted pink and green! I was concerned about her colour choice, but it looks really pretty together in my humble opinion LOL! The skirt ruffles are a bit runny (the royal icing was) but it was getting late and I wasn't going to mess about making stiffer icing at that stage!
