Gumpaste Hydrangas
this is not a finished picture they were trying out the purple ribbon. They ended up with ribbon on each layer. The cake and flowers are mine but the ribbon is the brides mother idea

awww.. too much ribbon obscures the lovely decorating job! Most ribbon cakes have them just a portion of the height of each layer. Nice job on the gumpaste hydrangeas!
very pretty!! are the cakes 2" deep & 2 layers each or are they just one layer each? Very nice!
the cakes are 2 inch with 2 layers the ribbon is 4 inches silk not satin ribbon I guess the purple made a real statement in the large room

Your hydrangeas are excellent. Very realistic looking. While I wouldn't have used such deep ribbons, you pointed out that it was Mom's idea. Ultimately, it's not what WE want, it's what the customer wants. I think you did a beautiful job.
I love it. The hydrangeas are so soft looking. I love them on cakes. All of you gumpaste flowers are beautiful.
