Just two weeks after I made my first cake I decided to try another for a former sailor of mine who had made chief. I was very proud of him and wanted to give him something unique. The trouble is, there are no molds for the chief's symbol. So I got the food grade silicone and the no stick clay for this work and made my own mold. The cake is 3 two inch layers with Godiva dark chocolate ganache filling on one, fresh raspberry stewed puree on the second then topped with more dark Godiva ganache and a very tasty buttercream. No fondant. The molds are dark and milk chocolate chief symbols with edible silver dust accents. My second cake!!!
