Wedding Cake
I made this cake for a friend who's wedding theme is purple. The layers are vanilla cake with purple yam filling. Fresh flowers are used to decorate it.

Thank you! Purple yam is similar to sweet potatoes. You can find them at the frozen section at the asian food store (it's hard to find the fresh ones). I just cook it with water until it is soft and then add it to pastry cream or custard. Don't forget to put some vanilla extract coz it really compliments the flavor of the purple yam.

Purple yam tastes like regular yams but has a more delicate flavour. I guess its an acquired taste...either you love it or hate it!
