I made this for my friend's 30th b-day. He plays the sax and is studying music-ed. This cake was done in extremely short notice. So I had to come up with something quick, hehe. The scale in front of the cake are the actual notes to the tune "Happy Birthday to You" in alto saxophone sheet music. I enjoyed making this cake coming from an old "band nerd" myself! It is vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and vanilla pastry cream filling. Yum!! :)
