Client wanted a cake for her friend's (who is also my friend) surprise birthday. Client wanted a girly cake that wasn't traditionally girly. Birthday girl I knew loved NC State (she bleeds Red, Black & White), and adores tailgating and chocolate. The cake is a Chocolate Guinness Stout cake filled with Chocolate-Malted Guinness Stout Cream Cheese Buttercream. Decorated and covered in Marshmallow Fondant. I had never made fondant by hand (my Kitchen-Aid died) so that was a first. Also 1st time making chocolate marshmallow fondant (for the black) and especially first time making a fondant bow!!! I think for my 1st time, it came out great!
