My good friend asked me a cake that would compliment her daughters Luau/Tropical themed birthday party and this was the first this to come to mind - Flip Flops. The shoes are cut out of 9 X13 sheet cake, the laces are licorice, and the flower is silk. I used crushed vanilla wafers to give the effect of beach sand. Just to make sure there was enough to go around, I also whipped up some cupcakes and piped frosting with white and blue frosting to give it a swirl effect.
