My first cake like this. Once the cake was shaped, filled and frosted it was wrapped in modeling chocolate. The base and handle are rice crispies. Then I painted the cup to match the existing crockery the couple owned. I added a small gumpaste mail box with their house number and a "welcome" mat. I'm told that it was a big hit.
