I did this cake for my grandson's 5th birthday. I used Wood Designer Edible Print Image (from global sugar art) to cover the cake after I carved it. I used gum paste for th sails and royal icing for the rails and the water. The wheel, cannon, people and treasure chest on the island are all plastic figures.
