My twin girls were obsessed with 101 Dalmations when they were 4 (last year). This was their birthday cake. I used the Wilton pan ( discontinued so I got it on e-bay). I used regular icing taht you woyld buy in a supermarket. I know that is unheard of in the cake world but I make my cakes mostly for birthdays. My kids despise fondant and don't like buttercream so I tried this and it really works well for me.
