I made this cake for a cast party for "The Labors of Hercules Fitch." There is a submarine in the play, and the kids made it a yellow submarine. So I made a yellow submarine cake. This submarine is NOT related to The Beatles in any way, so I didn't want it to look like their submarine. It was just supposed to be a submarine that happened to be yellow. The windows/port holes are fondant. The periscope (sp?) is fondant wrapped around a bendable straw. Everything else is buttercream frosting.
