I had a request for an exploding volcano cake. I made a batch of hard candy to use at the top of the volcano to give the effect of exploding. You can't see in the picture but I added a small vase inside the volcano that would hold dry ice, so it smoked too. All the 3-D elements are made of marshmallow fondant.
