This cake was made for our pastor's birthday. He loves to hunt. When he does he takes his Bible/books to study. The story behind this tree is a recent hunting trip where he only had 3 rounds of ammo (thought he had more). He fired all three and still missed the deer. I have the deer running away (into the trees) as I wasn't quite sure I could accomplish making the whole deer and keeping him upright. The decorations are mostly edible. Deer stand is made of fondant and dowel rods and large tree behind stand is royal icing over straws/wires. Remaining decorations are fondant/royal icing/piping gel.
