I am making a whale for a baby shower cake in March, and I wanted to try it out, see how I felt about the wires and just the general shape I had in mind. All in all, I'd say it turned out pretty good. The gumpaste was just some leftover that I had from the letters on my last cake, and had started drying out. I tried a mouth, but didn't like the one I had, so it looks a little weird. Also, the whale on the cake will be much bigger, so I know the water shooting out looks a lot bigger than the whale. There will also be a third water spout, but didn't have enough gum paste.
