I used to work at the Courthouse and was asked to make the retirement cake for one of the Judges. I think it turned out pretty good. Cake is 2 9x13 cakes stacked and then sprayed. The gavel is pillars covered in fondant. I wanted to make edible images for the wording since I can't write to save my life, but the store was not very nice about it so it is just printed paper on fondant.
