I made this cake for a 4 year olds b-day. It def did NOT turn out the way I wanted it but I am continuing to learn new ways of doing the 3-D cakes. My advice... sketch an exact replica of your project. It will make life much easier and it takes most of the guessing out of it. By the way my husband rigged up some lights (I dont know if you can really see them in the pic) for the front and back.
