Wedding Cake on Cake Central

This was my first wedding cake. French vanilla cake with strawberry filling. All BC except for fondant roses. (Similar to the taste test cake in my album.) I was glad to have practiced once because I learned that you have to make the dam icing REALLY stiff when using a filling. (It was squishing out a bit on my practice cake.) I'm glad I did because the cake table was in front of the window and the sun heated it for more than two hours before they cut the cake. Thankfully the icing didn't melt and slide off

Thanks everyone. Appycat -- you mixed and matched from the book, too, huh? I didn't want to do a swag of roses on the top, but I really loved the ruffles and stringwork of the blue cake. They seem to go together well enough. :)
