Romantic Wedding Cake
Back to work again after 4 weeks of holiday with my family. There are a lot wedding cakes scheduled for next couple weeks. I can’t wait to make some beautiful designs. I’ve made this 5 tiers white wedding cake with gold accents and old pink flowers last saturday. Hope you like it.
Wedding Cake Inspired By "barbie" Fashion Collaboration
My Inspiration for this collaboration was Marie Antoinette. It has been my long time I wish to make a Victorian style cake. Looking at the photo of the designer I immediately knew what to do. The combination of the corset, lace, ruffles, pleats and drapes with a touch of gold are the characteristics of a Victorian style dress. Barbie time-travelled a few centuries back, but returned with grace and beauty. I’m very pleased with the result. Inspired by Magia 2000 Italia Designer Duo (Mario Paglimo & Gianni Grossi). Romantic Watercolour Wedding Cake
This is one of my favourites. the birds were so much fun to make, and I got to play with colours I am rarely ever asked to use for wedding cakes. I'm pretty happy with how it all turned out ^^
Krikor Jabotian Inspired Wedding Cake
Wedding Cakes Inspired by ‘Barbie’ fashion. A worldwide collaboration. She’s been an icon since 1959 and loved by all! Her fashion designers are desired by many, and known by few. I am so honored to be part of this collaboration that features a Worldwide group of sugar artists that bring this collection of Wedding Cakes inspired by some of her Designers. My design was inspired by the gown worn by the “Miss Karelia” doll which was inspired by a designer gown designed by Krikor Jabotian. The Fondant Ruffles and the Gold Filigree design with Sugar Crystal accents mimics the detail work on the gown and the bottom tier mimics the Gold faux leather boats that the doll is wearing.
One Wedding, Six Cakes!
I LOVE the idea of multiple wedding cakes of varying sizes instead of a single big one! Such a wonderful change of pace! I also got to try out new sugar flowers, which always makes me so happy!
Birch Bark Wedding Cake
Birch Bark Wedding Cake This four tier birch bark wedding cake was created with modeling chocolate on the sidewalls. I chose modeling chocolate and luster dusts because I wanted to create a more realistic bark. I covered the walls of the cake in white modeling chocolate, cut the top off level with the cake and dusted it with the customer's wedding color, Tiffany Blue. To create a sheen to the modeling chocolate bark I dusted the entire tier in a pearl luster dust. Then I used a the wide tipped Dresden fondant tool, to create the straight lines, and an Exacto knife to create the peeled bark effect. Once I sculpted the chocolate I used an oil based food coloring to paint in the dark lines. Once the cakes were stacked it was a matter of adding the sugar flowers. I made somewhere around 175 sugar flowers for this cake. I knew that I wouldn't use all of them but I wanted to make sure that I could create a full arrangement. I did, however, use about 80% of them. When I started the sugar flowers I made just the Tiffany Blue sunflowers. I had to contact the customer because I felt that they didn't look like sunflowers and was worried that it wouldn't be to the brides liking. She sent me an image of her wedding bouquet which had yellow and white sunflowers. So, we discussed it and decided to go with white, Tiffany Blue and yellow sunflowers. I also added sugar Stephanotis, roses and baby's breath. When I started adding the sunflowers sugar leaves it really brought the flowers out. It took me 7 eight hour days just to complete the sugar work for this cake. All together it took around 75 hours to complete but the bride was stunning, the wedding was gorgeous and the cake was a beautiful hit!
