Spiderman

Spiderman on Cake Central

I had such high hopes for this cake, but unfortunately I ran out of time. It turned out pretty good and my son and all of his friends really liked it.

Yeah, the middle got a little scrunched....I wasn't happy about that. I almost didn't post my photos because of it, but my husband encouraged me to. I'm very critical of my "work" so I was disappoined with the end result, but the people that attended the party were really impressed with it which made me feel good.

The brick pattern was done using an impression mat and MMF. Very easy to do. I simply dusted the impression mat with a combination of cornstarch and powdered sugar to keep it from sticking to the MMF. I purchased the impression mats at a local store but I've found them on Ebay and also on some online cake supply stores. Oh, one more thing - I colored my fondant when I was melting the marshmallows so that the color would be consistent through out the MMF.

As a CC'er, I can see the middle section looking a little scrunched. As a cake civilian, I would look at this cake and exclaim, "OMG this is a CAKE????" You did a great job. I can't imagine me even attempting something like this. It's incredible.
