Snowcovered/white Roses

Snowcovered/white Roses on Cake Central

Hi sugar friends! This was one of 18 wedding cakes I made for the John Henry floral book. It was such an honor to be a part of this. I made all the dummy cakes and they flew florists in from all over the country to do the floral work. I thought you might like to see this one, with it being winter and all. The cake is covered with coarse sanding sugar. Snowflakes are gp. If you have questions, please address them to my e-mai: [email protected] Jennifer Dontz Traveling Sugar Art Teacher

This cake REALLY sparkled in person, but the sparkles got lost .... darn! I have permission to post this from the JH company. Also, the table was beautiful...thought it might give some ideas :-)

Beautiful cake as always Jennifer! Is it fondant or buttercream? (I'm just wondering how you were able to apply the coarse sugar!) Excellent job!

Since this was a dummy cake, I applied the sugar with clear piping gel. If I were doing this cake for real, I would probably use a slow or non-crusting buttercream. Thank you, everyone, for your kind comments!
