Here's my version of Debbie Brown's kitten cake. I painted the cat to look like one of my mom's. It was a fun one to do. Cake is german chocolate with a squirt of dark chocolate syrup and plain buttercream filling.

critique subgroup member: Too cute!! your yarn is almost perfect! looks like a real ball of yarn. I agree with tiptop, the board needs to look more professional.
Critique Subgroup Member: Welcome aboard our group. I did one of these way back when. Yarn was a pain wasn't it? But yours turned out very nice. I would buy some foil from Michaels with your 40% off coupon and use it to wrap the board. You's look more professional. Also remember, your photo is the only thing left because the cake gets eaten. So be mindful on the little things like the little piece of fondnat on the board......your yarn is very nice.....

Critique Subgroup Member ~ Wow you did great on that yarn. I bet it was tedious and tiring. A suggestion I would make is to make indentions on the cats paws to help them look more realistic.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I agree, too, that the board needs something other than foil. I just couldn't justify running out and getting anything at the time. I'm working on getting better at that, and have been stocking up on lots of great board coverings. Now to find the time to make another cake :D
