How do all of you organize your tips if you've got a large amount? I've been using the some of the smaller storage boxes with dividers from Flambeau, but I'm needing to get more (my 130+ tips are running amok!) and was wondering how all of you corral yours.

I'm thinking about investing in a few more of the 4006 boxes; they hold as many as 36 standard sized, but they don't come with enough dividers icon_mad.gif ) so I have to buy extras... what's neat is that they hold every single tube I have except for my 789. Woo!

I dont have that many tips yet... I have enough to fill the Wilton tackle box but thats it... I do double up on the same size tip though....out of those 130 tips how many do you actually use???
I got ones that I seen that were used in the books that I looked at, havent really used them yet, but hope to....

I have all the wilton tips. I have some in my tackle box, and then I have two large tip containers and a small one. I have all my tips in numerical order so they are easy to find. The ones that are too large for the container I have in a zip lock bag that I keep in my tackle box.

At the bakery where i used to work we had an organizer that is made for garages, the kind they keep their washers and screws and stuff in. It has a bunch of little plastic drawers in it. Do you know what I mean? We labeled the drawers, some of the tips that are similar we would put together in a drawer.

flayvurdfun: Since I have a fair amount of dupes after my lot purchases, only 89 of them are unique numbers... I've used most of them; I like using several noticeably different stars on character cakes for texture and variety.

No, no pictures! icon_cry.gif This was before I had a digital camera... but I'm going to be making the licensed Dalmatians puppy in a few weeks, and that'll get posted in the galleries. icon_smile.gif

I just keep mine in my Wilton tackle box, but I don't have any where near as many as you. Ahhh, maybe someday... But anyways, I was thinking of a regular tackle box that you use for fishing. My hubby has one with lots of little slots in it, plus it came with dividers to make the slots even smaller. It accordions out when you open it and it must hold a good 50 lures. I am sure they make them bigger than that.

My local cake shop keeps them in the box with the little plastic drawers like Kate mentioned. It is easy to find the tips you want to buy.

I just keep mine in numerical order in my Wilton box. If I had a ton, I would use seperate tip boxes and put them in numerical order, then I would label the boxes with the tip numbers like 16-45, etc...

I'm getting the plastic box w/ drawers when I go out shopping tomorrow. My cake place does that too. Everytime I go to get a tip from my wilton box every tip falls out or dumps over. I even have 2 of the tip white box things w/ a clear lid from wilton & I have the same problem w/ that tipping over. The plastic box is a good idea. I have so many tips I can't keep up w/ them! Everyone has such good ideas!
