HELP!  Anyone have a great suggestion to get a "true gold" for on a drip cake?  I just did one last night and I find my color is more a 'butterscotch' or 'caramel' in color - rather than a GOLD.  I only want suggestions that are 100% edible, FDA approved for consumption, please! I keep seeing pictures of these awesome GOLD DRIP cakes (and beautiful gold lettering on decorated sugar cookies) and just can't find the right company/color to get that shade.  I watched a video tutorial on a gold drip cake and at the end they showed the brand they used in the video and it was "not for consumption".  I want it to be edible if it's on a cake! Can anyone help me find a great brand that can be eaten and looks bright gold???

I have not used their metallics, but Roxy & Rich makes them and they are approved for consumption, even in the USA.  They appear to be very bright and shiny, just like the inedible kind.

Thanks, Sandra!  I used the ROXY brand on my cake last night.  I just bought their Aztec gold a few weeks ago and this was my first time using it.  Wonder if another of their "gold" colors is what I need?  It's better than other brands I've tried, but still more of a "butterscotch" shade and not quite the color of gold I was wanting.

I really have no idea, sorry.  R & R is the only brand of which I am aware approved in the US.  Wilton has a metallic gold in a spray which is not quite as glittery, but still a pretty gold, which is edible, but it wouldn't work for a drip.

Somewhere yesterday I saw a new product designed particularly for making gold drips.  It may have been Evil Cake Genius.  Of course, it may not be approved in the US either.
