I'm thinking of using these pandas as cake toppers on an upcoming family birthday cake I'm making:

They are Schleich toy panda figurines.  The cub will go on the child's individual 4 inch cake and the bigger panda will be going on the 9 inch cake that will be feeding the rest of the party guests.  What I'm trying to figure out is how to use them as toppers without them sinking into the frosting on the cakes and making a mess.  They will not be on the cakes long, but just long enough for photos alone and with the birthday girl.  They will not be transported on the cake.

Is there anyway to support them and avoid a cake fail?  According to their Amazon pages, the bigger panda weighs 3 oz and is about 2.5 inches tall.  The cub weighs about .8 oz and is 1.8 inches tall.
