Hello everyone. My husbands favorite cake is the 10 layer chocolate cake with the cooked icing. I have made it up to 15 layers (patting my back). I say this cause if any of you are familiar with this cake it is hard work & tedious. It’s definitely made with love.

This year for his birthday we are having him a party & his party wouldn’t be complete without this cake. I’m having this thought of instead of making numerous makes to feed everyone, making one large using a cookie sheet as my pan for making the layers.

I am looking for thoughts, ideas & suggestions for this. Also, a lot of prayers, lol.

Thanks in advance

I’m not familiar with that recipe but usually there is no problem baking in a sheet instead of a round   I’ thinking your 10 layer is a usuals cake cut into very thin layers   My only concern is handling such large, thin layers   Or maybe you can bake them thin?

As long as you have a couple of large cake lifters to assist with stacking, it should work fine to bake thin layers.
