Cup Cake Cases Made With Fondant/gum Paste

I'm making a 3 tier Frenc/Fondant fancy wedding cake and I don't know how to make the cases out of fondant/gum paste, any help on how to make them would be great. The largest one will measure 10 inches. They need to be fluted and need to be free standing.
Someone else was asking as well....not sure they figured anything out. You'd have better luck with the gumpaste, since it needs to stand up/out.

Could you maybe use a fluted pie dish as a mould? It wouldn't be deep enough, but if the base was properly fluted it might make it easier to get the sides right? You might be able to sink supports into it at the proper angle as well.
Have you considered buying cake dummies that are an inch or so larger then the cakes you are making and draping gumpaste over them and work the gumpaste to achieve the fluted look you need?
Thanks everyone, I have gone with the cake dummies and gum paste - just got to see how they dry out. Fingers crossed
Aldonza, if you Google Fondant fancy wedding cake you will see the cakes sit in a fluted white case.
