Hi all,I have a french fondant wedding cake to make and am worried about making the paper cases from icing, the cake needs to be 10 8 and 6 inch tiers and each one on it's own stand. Someone suggested large paper coffee filters but I can't find any big enough, could they be made from pastillage

what's a French fondant wedding cake?

idk what it is but my first thougt is use chocolate not pastillage -- the cake sits inside a big muffin wrapper type thing?

i would used fondant + cornstarch myself -- pastillage and gum paste would be too brittle for me

you need commercial coffee filters -- is there a restaurant supply store near you -- or even a restaurant that you could buy a few from -- because you don't need 1000 and that's probably how they are packed --

i think i would go with one of these and use candy clay and piece the larger one together
