Hi all,I have a french fondant wedding cake to make and am worried about making the paper cases from icing, the cake needs to be 10 8 and 6 inch tiers and each one on it's own stand. Someone suggested large paper coffee filters but I can't find any big enough, could they be made from pastillage
what's a French fondant wedding cake?
idk what it is but my first thougt is use chocolate not pastillage -- the cake sits inside a big muffin wrapper type thing?
i would used fondant + cornstarch myself -- pastillage and gum paste would be too brittle for me
you need commercial coffee filters -- is there a restaurant supply store near you -- or even a restaurant that you could buy a few from -- because you don't need 1000 and that's probably how they are packed --
i think i would go with one of these and use candy clay and piece the larger one together
I've been trying to find large fluted greaseproof cake liners as I thought they may work ok but the biggest I can fine is 20cm,anyone know where I can buy different sizes
these are bigger although not quite big enough at 8.75 inch across the bottom 22 cm and 28 cm ish across the top
i've never heard of this company
Oh yes,I'll let you know if I find anything, this is the only wedding cake I'm actually losing sleep over x
