Hey everyone! I am needing to figure out how to cover wire with fondant or something like that to make the wire thing between the fish. I have tried covering it carefully with fondant, melted candy melts, food coloring paint. Nothing works. Makes the wire look to big after its covered. Need help before this weekend!! Any suggestions? Thank you!

Why not just wrap it with white floral tape and color it with petal or luster dust?

I looked for white floral tape and didnt have a lot of luck finding any. Plus I am not crazy about using the petal dust if i dont have to becasue its not very safe for human consumption. Thank you so much though!

Who said petal dusts are not safe? :(  This is the 1st I've heard such info.  Granted the gold and silver shiny dusts are not but there are all kinds of dusts that are edible......you just have to find the right ones.   JUst becuse it is called non-toxic does not mean it is edible but there are some on the market.

I don't know... I'd probably consider just using a white cake pop/lollipop stick and paint it yellow with food coloring? don't know if that sounds crazy lol .. it would already be the right thickness and would be smooth

I don't know where you found the information that petal dust was not edible.  It was created for cake decorating and every decorator I've ever heard of uses it.

Why not just add more bubbles of varying sizes to hide the wire

If you use paramount crystals to thin out the candy melts, it shouldn't get thick on the wire.

My thoughts are in line with Aldonza....I'd use varying sizes of bubbles to hide the support completely.  Or not worry about coating/coloring the wire as it wouldn't stick out so much then.
