Has anyone had any success using the Russian decorating tips?? They look so easy on utube,  but I have tried it in buttercream and whipped cream.  Little success.  Tips??  Thanks

There are several threads - one *very long* one where this has been discussed.  Here are a couple links;  http://www.cakecentral.com/blog/61786/using-russian-tips        http://www.cakecentral.com/forum/t/827824/russian-piping-tips-opinions

Just google "russian tips on Cakecentral.com and you'll get more links.

Thanks.......I've seen all the videos, and spoke to local baker who used them. Was told was pretty easy,  just need stiff BC..but mine still look like blobs!!  Lol

I've used them often with both buttercream and swiss meringue buttercream. The key to success that I found is make sure you have stiff icing. If you don't then it's a disaster. I actually learned the most from videos from Montreal Confections on youtube. She explains it the best. Here's a link to one of her videos, if that helps! Here's the latest one I did. They are really fun once you get the hang of it!! Best of luck to you!Russian Tips

I have some russian tips. They work great as long as your buttercream is on the stiffer side. Also when you do the flower do it quickly and pull up. They make beautiful flowers.

How do you get the inside of the flower to be different colors?
