Hi all.  I have a friend that wants a 3 tier wedding cake.  I've done 2 tier cakes but not 3.  Can anyone look at the sample she sent me and advise on what size pans I should use please.

I have a 14" square and 10" square 2" deep pans from wilton.  It looks like it may be two layers for each tier but high than the 4" the (2) 2" deep pans would make.  Perhaps 3" deep? Your thoughts

It looks to me like a 6/8/10, but that really doesn't matter.  You first determine how many servings you need and then determine the size of the tiers.   Wedding tiers are always at least 2 layers, and many of us do 3, or 4 (thinner) layers.  4" has always been the "traditional" height, but these days, anything is acceptable.

Thanks so much for responding.  Now I need to find how to create the silver scrolls.

Follow leah_s advice.  Have the bride tell you how many servings they need then figure out the sizes of the pans you will need.
