all these government people fighting with each other is destroying all rhythm and peace in American life.  I don't own a television (that's by design); I enjoying reading the newspaper and online news.  But I'm at a point that I can't even look at the news.

Everyone in Washington DC needs to calm down and eat a cupcake...

I agree and the more cupcakes the better!! It is sad that people can not just try to get along with each other instead of fighting all the time!!

I have a shirt that says "Don't Act Stupid.....We Have Politicians For That!", and unfortunately it is all too true.  You'd think they would ban together to look out for what is best for the United States as a whole, but they all have their own personal agendas and only look out for themselves and their beliefs......or who can pad their pockets the best!  I refuse to watch the news or read the paper any more because I can't stand to see all the nonsense there.

When I lived in Washington DC, I managed the administrative staff and office for a US Presidential Commission. The commission was created by an executive order from President Bush, but formed and active under President Clinton. The commission Chairman was a former cabinet member under a republican president.  The Chariman wanted expertise and knowledge--so irregardless of party affiliation, he selected staff from both sides of the aisle.

One of my greatest lessons in life came from the Chairman. There was an incident between one of his aides and I.  Afterward, he told me in every aspect of life we will encounter people with differing of opinions; that differing perspectives are important whether we are creating public policy, or navigating life.  But no matter how divided in opinion, we must always be civil to one another.

I fear our government has lost all civility....and Gerle, I wholly agree, our government puts their interests before country.
