Thawing Fondant

I pulled the wrong batch of fondant out of the freezer and now all I have is blue fondant to make butterflies, bugs, and flowers for DD's birthday cake! (she's one today btw!)

I have some white in the freezer, but I'm afraid it's going to take way too long to thaw it out the normal way. Is there a way to speed up the thawing of fondant?

why do you freeze your fondant?

What type of fondant is it that you are freezing? Most fondants shouldn't be frozen - just wrapped tightly and sealed in an airtight container it should last for up to a year.

I would probably try using the defrost setting on my microwave to thaw it. Like the others, I don't freeze fondant, it really isn't necessary. Janice

I've freeze fondant just like the royal icing flowers. That was when I was using the Wilton fondant. It's fine when it thaws out. I have never thawed it out in the microwave though. I haven't froze the MMF. I'll try it one of these days. When I freeze fondant I wrap it w/ saran wrap, then tinfoil, then saran wrap again, the put it in a ziploc bag. My Wilton instructor told me about it. It's fine when it thaws. I wouldn't put a fondant covered cake in the icebox though. Not a good idea. IMHO icon_smile.gif
