I want to make cake pops for my daughters school, but I really do not like the candy melt taste. For me it taste like donuts instead of cakes once I add the candy melts any other suggestions on what to use instead of candy melts?

Hi,

How about using ganache? I mean it requires chocolate but it also has heavy cream mixed in it, maybe the heavy cream will give u a better taste?

I usually use Nestle's or Baker's chocolate and have had much success with those brands. Have you tried Merken's chocolates? They are candy melts too but taste much better than the Wilton brand, IMHO.

You can flavor the candy melts with Lorann's oils (available at Hobby Lobby). It makes a HUGE difference. I like to use the citrus based ones like lemon and orange but you can coordinate with any flavor that goes well with the cake.
