I see cakes on here that have a lot of fondant work done in a multitude of colors and I am wondering if y'all keep all these colors on hand or mix them up as you need them?

I HATE not having a rainbow of colors on hand to make things on a whim and I am looking for a better way to solve this delima...

I generally make my own MMF and like to color it before I mix in all the PS.
Because of this I can not keep a lot on hand.
I don't particularly like buying pre-made fondant because of the cost, but I do try and keep some red & black Satin Ice on hand because those colors take too much work to make!

So if you use MMF: Do you make as you go or are you making lots of colors to have on hand and have a great way of storing it?
OR
if you buy pre-made...do you buy a lot of base colors and mix what shades you want?

Whats the best route to go here?

I keep red and black on hand. I always make white MMF and color small portions of it as I need it.
