I am making a boot standing up. It is going to be approx 8" high. What kind of support would you use to keep the arch from falling in? Thank you.

I saw a tutorial on youtube recently by pink cake box, and they used a regular shoe, with all the upper fabric cut off it, so it left only the sole and heel. I thought it may be worth going to one of the bargain basement shoe stores, and trying to pick up a pair of high heel sandals at next to nothing, stripping all the bits off it, and the you'd have a pair so you could make a couple of them in advance, which is always handy in case one breaks.
