Hi
I have just started making cake pops and was wondering what you use for the icing , do you colour white chocolate and coat them or use royal icing ... please could someone give me an idea ?

Many Thanks xx

I use candy melts (Merkens brand) precolored chocolates! I believe most folks use chocolate coating to cover their pops. You certainly could use white chocolate and dye it with colors made for chocolate!

I use Merkins as well (some times add a pinch of shortening to thin if necessary). Here is a ridiculuously long but crazy informative thread on cake balls/pops.

You could also check Bakerella.com she has great info as well.

Enjoy!!!
