Sticking Hardened Gumpaste?

I have made a gumpaste shoe and now the pieces have dried I need to stick
them together. Do I need to use royal icing? If I do the only recipie I have says use fresh lemon but I do not have any,
is there another way of making it?

You can use royal icing or melted chocolate tinted to match your shoe (just in case a little shows). I've never added lemon juice to my royal icing. It's either egg whites and confectioner's sugar or meringue powder, water and confectioner's sugar.

Frankly, I'd use gum glue.

Gum Glue is basicially boiled water with some tylose in it. If you keep it cold, it will pretty much last forever.

I've never had any luck bonding dry pieces with gum glue. In my experience, at least one of the pieces has to be fresh, otherwise they just slide around.

Can someone please tell me the recipe for gum glue? I mean, how much Tylose to how much water? I've been wanting to try this.
