OMG too funny! I've never thought of this... I'm never gonna look at my tootpaste in the same way again!
Oh my gosh!!! Ya'll are going to be my roommates in that rubber room I'm headed for!!!!! 
I do the same thing!!!!! I even put butter on my toast in a smoothing motion... SweetResults this cracked me up!!!!! 
Yes...I find myself doing the same thing! In fact, I posted this embarrasing fact in the "You know you are a cake decorator if..." thread here on CC sometime back. Someone else posted the same thing, so I know this is definitely an epidemic! LOL!!!
Actually...I think it gives the toothpaste a nice flair, don't you? LOL!
There is a fine line between a hobby and a mental illness--I think some of us have crossed that line! LOL
Save me a space in the room! I try and decorate everything. I pipe softened butter on pancakes, no plain anything around here.
Okay so if you all do the toothpaste thing, which I do too, do you also look at objects or people and think of ways you could bake that shape? For instance I swear Mr. Krabs from Spongebob Squarepants is a wondermold shape, and one day I'm going to prove it. Even my kids find things and try to guess how many pans it'd take to turn it into a cake. Lamps, toys, trees...it's turned into cake decorator I spy.

Rambo YES! I do that too!!! Ever since I discovered this new hobby I look at things differently now! LOL I even dream about cakes.....LOL One cake took me lall night to make and when I laid down for a quick nap that day I dreamed my nephew and his buddies came over, snuck in and ate all the cake that was for a very important party...I have silly dreams like that.LOL
I'm sure they have rubber rooms in all shapes & sizes... Everyone is welcome!
I don't think we're crazy for real... I think our creative juices are just overflowing & we need to make more & more cakes!!! 
Anything can be decorated and everything can be turned into cake!!! Too funny
Ok I used to do the toothpaste swirl when I was a kid. I always thought it looked cool.
Maybe I'm not ready for the rubber room yet because I haven't gotten to the point where I am trying to spead my butter perfectly 
But I do see cake and cake construction in everything. I'm always trying to think if I can "make it a cake"
I'm always looking at different containers (vases, bowls, etc.) and thinking "Now THAT would be a cool cake pedestal!"
LOL LOL I was in the garden department at WalMart yesterday and I found a couple plant stands and of course I was like "oooh cool cake stand", my littlest munchkin looked at me like I was crazy and tried to inform me it was for plants.
The other hot spot - Candle stores! Pillar plates and stands are great for mini cake stands and such.

I wasted SO much toothpaste as a kid....
Is it bad that I actually feel relieved that I don't do the shell with my toothpaste? Does it mean I haven't crossed over yet??

Hmmm.... wonder if any company makes a toothpaste tube that can fit a tip and coupler ring...

My daughte thinks everything is cake and not the "real" thing. At Sam's club she saw a wrapped gift display - she wanted to know how they got the icing so shiny. It really was foil paper!
I piped deviled eggs the other day in stars, shells and dots for practice!

I actually smoothed my mashed potatoes the other day with out thinking about it! My DH was watching and smirking at me when I relized I was doing it! Oh boy! The little men with white jackets are coming to get us!!!!!
