hehe, love that.
I find myself putting everything in one of my mondo piping bags to serve... potatoes, sour cream, butter, anything that can be piped I have done it... (my 7 year old son looks at me like I am nuts!)
Oh, or looking at things that can be used for food prep or presentation, I gaze at the hardware store aisles in search of a cool tool to use (those that would be food safe of course) when catering or doing cakes. (My 30 year old brother thinks I am nuts!)
It's amazing what you think about when you are in the zone...
Great post icon_smile.gif

Oh boy! I'm glad I'm not alone!

You know you're hooked on cake decorating when you're sitting there watching Lord of The Rings and you see the big huge fondant covered cake for Bilbo's going away and you wonder what is inside and how in the world did they find a oven large enough to bake a cake that size, then you're critique-ing it for smoothness. LOL! UGH! Sometimes, you just can't get it out of your head!

this is SOOOO funny! i thought i was clearly just obsessed (which i am!). My newest thing is i co-manage a Destination Imagination Team at my son's school. check out the site. The kids have to solve a challenge and creativity is KEY! it CONSTANTLY helps me with cake/cookie decor! looking at things in a differnt way... using items in a way they are not intended to be uses.... construction ideas.... etc. it's PRICELESS, the ideas i have gotten from these kids challenges and building!
now.. i'm off to pipe toothpaste!! icon_smile.gif

I haven't started doing that yet, but I know it's coming. BUT...I invited my sister and her family over for dinner last week and I mentioned that I had another cake experiment for dessert. She did not mention this to my 3 year old nephew, but later on the way to our house my nephew said "Oh boy, we are going to aunt Nikki's to eat birthday cake!" When she told me I cracked up...he already associates me with cake!

come to think of it, I could've sleep in today because church was canceled....and I got to thinking about my half finished dummy cake and fondant flowers...and most importantly the computer wasn't in use right now and I could get on CC and I JUMPED out of bed.

WOW! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I was getting tired of my kids making a mess with the toothpaste so I took all 3 into the bathroom to show them how to use the toothpaste correctly. My daughter, 8 years old, says "Mom that looks just like the decorations on your cakes!" icon_surprised.gificon_biggrin.gif My husband just chuckled and said that's not the first time he has noticed that. Ha!

Every time my nephew comes over he ask, "Where's the cake?". LOL

Is there room for me in the padded room?! icon_rolleyes.gif
