Can someone please tell me if after I have my gum paste figures or letters, can I spray them with a product like Wilton's Color Mist? Will it 'take' the color?

Also, what do you consider the best way to attach gum paste accessories to a cake? Water, piping gel, etc?

Thanks- it will be my first time using gum paste and I am just unsure.

I did that just this past weekend and it worked well. (I didn't realize I was out of yellow airbrush coloring until midnight & Walmart was the only place open...I didn't feel like I had as much control with the Color Mist as my airbrush, but it did the job and I'd use it again if I needed to.) Just make sure you allow a little extra drying time since you're adding moisture.

Personally, I mix a little tylose with water to glue pieces together or attach to fondant, but different folks swear by different adhesives...plain water, GP glue (bought or homemade), RI...it really just depends on your preference...play around and see what you like best.

Good luck!
