I am trying to cover a cake dummy with fondant. I can't get the fondant to stick and it keeps tearing. Please tell me what I am doing wrong! I need to work on this tonight! THANKS!

I usually just spritz water on the dummy first and then the fondant sticks like a charm!

Try to make the dummy sticky first. You can rub shortening on it, piping gel, buttercream, water....just anything to make it stick.

It also helps to soften the edges of the styrofoam dummy but either rolling it on the counter or even using a nail file to make the edges rounder.

Hope that helps!

I am having the same problem. I'm wondering if you ever figured it out. I'm using Satin Ice for the first time and it keeps tearing. I've tried filing the edge down, but still no luck.
